Mille Lacs Health System is gearing up to give the COVID-19 vaccine to employees, Long Term Care residents, and Lake Song residents starting the week of Christmas.
Using a tiered program which is dictated by the state, within the health system there is a Phase 1a First Priority group; a Phase 1a Second Priority group; and a Phase 1a Third Priority group.
Because this is a two-dose, 3 weeks apart program, the second doses then must be scheduled for all groups.
As of yet it is unknown when the vaccine will then be rolled out to the general public.
MLHS phone lines and provider appointments need to be kept open for patients who need assistance with health-related issues. Patients are asked not to call or make appointments to be put on a waiting list. There is no list at this time. When the facility is readying to start vaccinating patients, a plan will be put into place and communicated to the public.
