MLHS Hospice receives national award

The Mille Lacs Health System Hospice and Home Care has been named a 2014 Hospice Honors recipient, a prestigious award recognizing hospices providing the best patient care as rated by the patient’s caregiver.

This prestigious annual honor recognizes hospices that continuously provide the highest level of satisfaction through their care as measured from the caregiver’s point of view. The award was presented to MLHS Hospice by Deyta, an organization that helps improve patient care by collecting and managing patient satisfaction survey results. Deyta used the Family Evaluation of Hospice Care (FEHC) survey results from more than 1,700 partnering hospice agencies in its efforts to recognize top performing hospices for their hard work and dedication. Hospice Honors recipients include those hospices scoring above the Deyta National Average on at least eighty-five percent of the evaluated questions.

“I have always known that the quality our hospice team provides to both patients and families is excellent,” Hospice Director Patti Hook, M.D., said. “But now we have an award that not only compares us to hospices all over the nation, but also validates and proves our exceptional care.”

MLHS CEO Bill Nelson said, “We are all so proud of Hospice’s achievements and recognition, and we’re lucky to have this great team working for Mille Lacs Health System in our community.”
